New Moon Cast Answers Fan Questions!

MTV chatted with the cast and asked them questions from the fans (except me...I didn't know I could ask questions...did you):

Nikki Reed

Q: In "New Moon," Rosalie is the one who tells Edward that Bella has died. Do you think that Edward had a right to know, or do you personally think it was none of her business to tell him?

Reed: I am always going to come to Rosalie's defense and say that she wasn't just trying to hurt him. I mean, he is her brother and she does love him. She felt bad for how she has treated their entire relationship, and maybe it was her way of taking the initiative and wanting to be the one to break the news to him. She wasn't lying to him; this is what Alice thought and what she told Rosalie. So Rosalie felt the need to break the news to Edward.

Kellan Lutz

Q: What is the one question that you hope you never get asked again in an interview?

Lutz: Do I wear boxers or briefs? I think it's such a funny one, and there's always someone — and they're usually older than 50 — who asks that question.

Q: What is the one question you wish were asked more often?

Lutz: Well, I'm really into charity work and telling people about that. It's always hard to get to that answer [during an interview]. Talking about the charities that I'm involved in, helping families and kids, is really something that I'm involved in and really near to my heart. Just showing love to molested kids and giving them a birthday and telling them that God loves you and it's OK to have fun and smile, to give them a stuffed animal and watch them be happy. I wish I could talk more about the charities that I'm involved in and that we have so much opportunity in the end to make a difference out there.

Q: Have you bought anything exciting with your "Twilight" earnings?

Gathegi: I bought a plane ticket home to see Mom. That's exciting!

Q: What does Mom think of "Twilight"?

Gathegi: Oh, she loves it! But Mom is not the perfect gauge, because she's Mom. My mom is very deeply religious, but she loves "Gone Baby Gone." I'm throwing F-bombs everywhere [in that movie]; I'm killing people. And she's like, "That's brilliant!" But I live beneath my means, because that's important. As an actor, you never know what is going to happen. You don't know when your next job is going to come. I mean, I'm doing all right now, but after "New Moon," I don't know. So you have got to prepare. It's an unsteady lifestyle, and you have to be smart about the money that you make. You might need it later on down the line.

Interview with Edi Gathegi: He Scared Stephenie!

Radar Online talked with Edi at the Skybar Emmy Suite, he dishes on New Moon & scaring Stephenie Meyer:

Radar: What was filming New Moon like?

Gathegi: There weren’t that many people on set this time. My big scene was with Bella. It wasn’t like the same crazy, everybody’s around dinner situation. It was still wonderful; it was nice to be able to sink my teeth into my character a little more. I think it’s going to be really great.

Radar: How scary is your scene?

Gathegi: Let’s just put it this way. I told Stephenie Meyer that my goal would be to scare every 14 year-old girl, and she looked at me and said “Edi, you’re so sweet and you have such a little baby face, no one is going to be scared of you at all.” Then she saw the movie and the dailies said, “OK Edi, you scared me!” And I said “That means a lot coming from you,” especially since she told me I wasn’t even going to be able to BE scary!

Edi Gathegi Talks New Moon: Stephenie, Shoes, Cows & Sparkles

MTV is all over the Twilight Convention interviews! Edi Gathegi was there and he talks about New Moon, his final film in the series:

Gathegi confirmed that he's seen a cut of "New Moon" and said it follows Stephenie Meyer's novel closely. "That's the whole point of having Stephenie Meyer as a consultant for all the books, because you know she has final approval and final say and they're not going to do anything to upset the fan base," he told the audience. "You guys are the driving force behind this entire thing."

The 30-year-old spent about three weeks on the "New Moon" set and was met with a few happy changes from the first film. For one, the cloudy red contact lenses used to give the vampires their signature scarlet stares were replaced with sleeker models more closely resembling regular contacts. For another, Gathegi finally got to wear shoes. "God bless Chris Weitz," he said. "In "Twilight' we didn't have shoes, because in the book they don't have shoes -- you know, nomadic vampires don't have shoes. And I was cold, I was froze to death! But Chris was like, 'Well, wear shoes.' "

When asked whether his character's penultimate showdown was more of a fight or a chase, Gathegi remained mostly mum, but did concede that it was hard acting with something that wasn't there. "We basically acted with a man holding a piece of cardboard shaped like a cow. So when you see the movie, look at my eyes and [decide], is he seeing a cow or is he seeing a wolf?"

Though that scene will be Gathegi's last as vampire Laurent, he said he can't be too upset about not returning to the saga. "Honestly, perspective. I'm happy I'm in 'Twilight.' I'm happy I made it to 'New Moon.' Things could be worse."

He did admit one regret: never getting to sparkle in the sun. (teehee! :))

Last Friday, The Supper Club and Tamsin Lonsdale in Los Angeles hosted a Black Dahliance Party to celebrate the birthday of TV host Carly Steel. The event was held at the Sowden House, a fitting location as some theories name it as the scene of the Black Dahlia murder. The party was catered by Top Chef’s Marcel Vigneron, and guests enjoyed live performances from burlesque dancers, jazz singers, and acrobatic performances
