Justin Chon #10 on Most Influential Korean-American List!

The Korean Beacon counted down the top ten most influential Korean-Americans from 2009 & Justin Chon landed at #10:

When we looked at our web analytics logs, Justin Chon was one of the most searched people on our website and the two interviews we conducted with him had some of the highest traffic this past year. Justin Chon had a breakout year with a key role again in the wildly popular Twilight Saga film (New Moon), which may end up being the highest grossing film this year. He also had big roles in the movie Crossing Over, and the indie film Turbo. Justin’s one of the rising stars in Hollywood and that can definitely be attributed to his work ethic. Did you know that his role “Eric Yorkie” in Twilight wasn’t written for an Asian guy? He obviously impressed enough for the casting agents of Twilight to cast him in the role of Eric. In the film Crossover, he acted along side legendary actors Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd. Justin is as Californian as they come but he portrayed a Korean immigrant struggling to adopt to America in Crossover. We had the opportunity to talk to him over the course of the year and he is truly a nerd when it comes to acting and we know he has range. Though his father was an actor in South Korea and he has the acting genes, he knows how much more he has to work. It was obvious to us how much he respects his craft and how hard he works at honing his skills. He’s very appreciative of the Twilight fame but his ambition is to work harder and to challenge himself with bigger roles. Justin had a great year in 2009 and we know you’ll see more of him in 2010 and beyond.

Justin Chon: Eclipse a "dark kind of moody film."

Get ready for darkness.

Twilight star Justin Chon tells me that director David Slade's Eclipse isn't exactly taking his lead from Catherine Hardwick or Chris Weitz.

"He's done pretty dark films so that's where I see [Eclipse] really gravitating towards—more of a dark kind of moody film," Chon said yesterday at BAFTA's pre-Emmy tea party. "Just shooting the scenes that I'm in, the mood is definitely different."

"David is very set on how he wants this movie to be portrayed," Chon said. "It's a lot more refined and maybe not as loose as the last two—at least for us humans. I can only imagine what he's doing with everyone else."

Chon also confirmed reports that Robert Pattinson has been living in a house rather than the usual hotel during filming in Vancouver, Canada.

"Security has been increased a lot," Chon said. "They're a lot more protective…If Rob was to go out in public without anybody, I think it could be pretty dangerous."

Even so, Pattz is dealing with the attention well. "It takes him a lot more time to get in and out of places," Chon said. "But he doesn't get angry. He's handling things great."

Justin Chon & Fellow Humans Heading to Vancouver

Radar Online has an interview with Justin Chon, who reveals among other things, that he and fellow humans Mike Welch, Christian Serratos and Anna Kendrick are heading to Van City:

First of all, Justin is heading to Vancouver on Tuesday with Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and Anna Kendrick to join the rest of the cast and he told RadarOnline.com the exclusive detail that they are "not just going to be in the cafeteria," for all their scenes in Eclipse!

Second, the actor who plays Eric Yorkie always has his script with him and has already memorized all his lines for Eclipse.

Third, just like Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz, he wanted to become a buff 30 pounds heavier for his scene and tease Rob Pattinson in the cafeteria, threatening "Edward, whatcha gonna do now?"
