{Confirmed?} Muse to be on 'Eclipse' Soundtrack!

"TA has a reporter who has been covering events down at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas all week. Well today that reporter happened to find themselves in conversation with informed sources from Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. The source has confirmed that Muse will indeed be on the Eclipse soundtrack."

Cool! I can't wait to see who else will be contributing!

Muse Says They May Be On 'Eclipse' Soundtrack Too!

Muse are apparently fully embracing their status as the "Twilight" band. They've already had their track "Supermassive Black Hole" on the first film's soundtrack, and come Friday, Twilighters can get their hands on the "New Moon" soundtrack, which features the group's remixed track "I Belong to You."

Now it looks like there's a good chance the British rockers will be back for even more vampy fun on the "Eclipse" soundtrack. "It's great to have the feeling of being a new band again in so many people's eyes or minds ... we might even do something for the third one," drummer Dominic Howard told MTV News. "How about that for a scoop?"

Nothing is set in stone yet, but Howard noted that besides being a favorite of "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer, they also have an in with "Eclipse" director David Slade.

"I Belong To You" by Muse To Be Redone For New Moon Soundtrack

MTV has the details on Muse's song "I Belong to You" which they will re-do specifically for the New Moon Soundtrack:

Singer Matt Bellamy revealed: “I spoke to the director yesterday (and) he wants the track I Belong To You, the sort of vaudeville piano track.

“He wants a rendition of that but the only thing with the new film is they want the songs to be exclusive to the film. So he’s asking if I mind doing, or if we mind doing an alternative version of it.”

Asked if they were up for it Matt said: “I think it’s alright- if it was one of the main tracks on the album I would never do it. But it’s actually one of the weirder tracks on the album.

“(It’s) one of the can't believe we got away with it kind of tracks. I think it might be worth giving it a go cos it’s a track that might not get played live very often… one of the obscure tracks off the album so it might give that track some life that it wouldn’t have otherwise.”

Muse’s hit Supermassive Black Hole featured in the first Twilight film- giving the three piece exposure in the States.

Dom from the band said: “It’s opened it up in some kind of way, millions of people listening to Supermassive Black Hole that have probably never heard our band before- which is not a bad thing.”

He added: “They have all gone bloody vampire mad over there seriously, it’s crazy!”

I love Muse, so this excites me! You?

Muse to Contribute to New Moon Soundtrack?

MTV reports that Muse will be talking with Chris Weitz about that posibility:

"I think I'm having a phone call with the director tomorrow," Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy said during some downtime at their VMA rehearsal. "He wants to use a song off the new album, so we're going to talk about that. That could be cool."

The track would come from Muse's upcoming album, The Resistance, though they're not yet certain which song Weitz has his eye on. "We don't know which one, so that's what we're going to talk about," Bellamy said. "Hopefully we'll work something out."

Another Super Massive Whack a Mole-esque song? Sweet!
