Is There Meaning Behind The Volturi Thrones?

My Twilife reader, Brenda, emailed me a question about the Volturi Thrones and I am not sure, so thought I would throw it out there.
Is there meaning behind the circular symbols above the Volturi's Chairs? Each one is different. Or, are we just looking into it too much?

Have you heard anything about this before?

Let me know what you think!

Daniel Cudmore Talks About His Fight Scene with Robert Pattinson

The TwiExaminer reports:

Recently, Cudmore was interviewed by FoForks, a Brazilian Twilight series fansite, and he got the chance to discuss that very fight scene.

"[I]t was a fun fight scene to work on and Robert really liked doing as much of the fight as he could, I slept like a baby afterwards. We’ll see how everyone feels after the movie comes out, and if they don’t like my character, then I did a good job."

According to The Twilight Saga: New Moon: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion, though, the idea of Felix fighting Edward was a bit inspired by Stephenie Meyer herself. This comes from Melissa Rosenberg, The Twilight Saga: New Moon's screenwriter.

"I had Edward fighting ever Volturi guard . . . Stephenie did rein me in, and we settled for what was appropriate. Stephenie pointed out that Felix is a Volturi Guard, and his gift is fighting, so that would be enough of a challenge for Edward."

Jamie Campbell Bower Spills Deets on Volturi & His Fav Scene

MTV talks with Jamie about New Moon, the Voltuiri and their accents, his favorite scene & more:

MTV: So, Jamie, you told us that you experimented with different accents while working on "New Moon." Is it safe to say that Caius and the other Volturi will have Italian accents, since they live in Volterra?

Jamie Campbell Bower: Actually, I have an English accent. Because they're so old — they're 2,000 years old, these guys — they would've tried [everything]. They're speaking English now, but they wouldn't have spoken English throughout all of their life. And so there's sort of a round vowel sound. The R's are very pronounced. It's kind of strange. It's almost medieval, the way we speak.

MTV: What's the one scene in "New Moon" you most enjoyed filming?

Campbell Bower: Well, there's a particular scene where we rip this guy apart, and I just sit there smiling and really enjoying it. When I got the script, I was like, "That's the one I want to do the most!," because there's nothing to say. It's really sordid, gross and really grim — that was pretty fun.

People's Look @ The Volturi!

People.com has an exclusive look at the Volturi & Chris Weitz reveals some deets about his and Stephenie's vision for the Evil Vamps:

"They're all hand-painted, specially manufactured contacts," Weitz tells PEOPLE. "They're opaque red, almost like preying mantis eyes. You can't really see into them. There's something terribly off-putting about it."

British actor Michael Sheen (The Queen) plays Aro, leader of the Italian blood-sucking clan. Although Aro and his brothers Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl) and Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower) have been "alive" for thousands of years, Weitz says he "deliberately" gave them a younger look in the film – for which he credits author Meyer.

"Stephenie was very keen to steer away from a kind of wizard-y look for the vampires," says Weitz. "They do look quite young, but they convey a formality and self-possession, which comes from age."

Perhaps most lethal of all the Volturi is Jane (Dakota Fanning), an angelic-looking vampire who inflicts physical torture on her victims. "She is very strange and very spooky in this movie," says Weitz. "I think [Dakota] wanted to play an evil character for once."

I for one am super excited about them! And I say it again, I.CAN.NOT.WAIT.FOR.NEW.MOON.

Introducing: The Volturi Vamps

Finally some Officially Amazing pictures of the Volturi! I have to say over all they look really good, and creepy!

Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus.

Full Name: Marcus Status: Vampire Group: Volturi Coven Date of Birth: Around 1300 BC Date of Transformation: Unknown Special Abilities: He sees the strength of the relationships between people “You already know what you’ll do, Aro.”

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Marcus is the most detached of the Volturi leaders. The loss of his mate has essentially turned him into a zombie over the centuries. He is surprised by the intensity of Bella and Edward’s relationship

Dakota Fanning as Jane

Full Name: Jane Status: Vampire Group: Volturi Coven Date of Birth: Unknown Date of Transformation: Unknown but at a young age Special Abilities: Ability to inflict debilitating pain with her thoughts “This may hurt just a little.”
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Jane is a high ranking member of the Volturi Guard. The Volturi were waiting to change her and her brother Alec until she was older, but humans—believing her and her brother to be witches—tried to burn them at the stake, which forced Aro to act while the twins were little more than children. Jane’s experience with the pain of burning alive shaped her into a potent weapon – she developed the ability to inflict immense pain on others with only a look.
Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius
Caius was born around 1300 BC, though the date of his transformation and his special powers are unknown. But we do know that he really, really wants to kill Bella, Edward, and Alice. And we're not going to lie, he looks pretty good for a 3,300-year-old.
Michael Sheen as Aro
Full Name: Aro Status: Vampire Group: Volturi Coven Date of Birth: Around 1300 BC Date of Transformation: Unknown Special Abilities: Ability to read every thought someone has ever had simply by touching them “I love a happy ending. They are so rare.”
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Aro is the leader of the Volturi. The sophisticated, urbane vampire’s goal is to recruit Edward and Alice to the Volturi. He refuses Edward’s request to be killed because of this. He lets them leave with Bella so as to not become their enemy (which would prevent his recruiting) and because he sees potential in Bella should she join the vampire world. He makes Edward and Alice promise to change Bella soon.

Cameron Bright as Alec.

"The Volturi were waiting to change Alec and his twin sister Jane until they were older, but humans tried to burn them at the stake, so the Volturi were forced to ‘change’ them while they were young. Since acquiring Alec and Jane, the Volturi have seldom needed to fight — their victims are simply slaughtered.”

Honestly, I don't like the longer hair on Aro and Caius. Aro's looks a little Billy Ray Cyrus to me...but thrilled otherwise.

Chris Weitz also spills his thoughts on the Volturi to MTV: "They've been around for 2,000 years. How would they interact with one another? The conclusion was that after 2,000 years you'd probably be more than mildly insane," he said. "No matter how cultured or gracious you appear on the surface."

Noot Seear Talks New Moon & Gives Heidi Deets

Interview Magazine has an interview with 25 year old Noot Seear who plays Volturi Vamp Heidi in New Moon:

DARRELL HARTMAN: So, what did you have to do to look the part?

NOOT SEEAR: I didn't tan for two months. It was awful, and totally unnecessary because they painted me white anyway. And I had these crazy contacts that I couldn't see through. It was like skiing in a total snowstorm. I could see about two feet in front of me.

DH: What about the wardrobe?
NS: It was this red, flowy dress with high gloves and big old heels.

DH: A dress? It's a miniskirt in the book.
NS: I know! I didn't get to show much leg.

DH: Heidi's scene, in the book at least, is short but awesome. Tell me about filming it.

NS: The sets were breathtaking. Huge, like palace-sized. I think the scariest part for me, out of the whole day, was that they had given me lines to practice, and when I showed up they gave me completely different lines. I freaked out. Dan [Cudmore] was like, "Calm down, it's okay." They're so protective over the script. But it was really cool because the day I shot everyone was there: Dakota, Rob, Kristen. I got to meet everyone and they were so nice to me. I was scared they were going to not be nice.

Read the whole interview here. She talks more about herself and how she got the name Noot! (I always wondered that!)
